Opportunity for media to witness the training of Canadian Space Agency astronaut David Saint Jacques in Russia

Longueuil, Quebec, June 11, 2018 — During the week of August 13, 2018, media representatives will have an opportunity to follow and film Canadian Space Agency astronaut David Saint-Jacques while he is training in Russia. They are invited to the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, where the Canadian astronaut is preparing for Expedition 58/59. He is scheduled to depart for the International Space Station on December 20, 2018.

The dates, duration and program remain to be determined. There is a possibility that media will be granted access to the life-size scale models of the Mir Space Station's modules and the International Space Station's Russian modules, as well as the centrifuge and the Soyuz simulator.

Spots are limited. To begin the accreditation process, media representatives must submit their full name, their city of residence and a PDF copy of their passport. The same information and document are required for their replacements, if applicable. Everything must be sent by email to the Canadian Space Agency's Media Relations Office (contact information below) no later than Tuesday, June 12, at noon ET.

Media representatives are responsible for their own travel costs.
