Canada's instrument on the Webb telescope ready for science

Longueuil, Quebec, June 27, 2022 — One of the James Webb Space Telescope's four primary scientific instruments, the Canadian Space Agency's (CSA) Near-Infrared Imager and Slitless Spectrograph (NIRISS), has completed post-launch preparations and is now ready to begin scientific operations.

The first full-colour images and spectroscopic data captured by the Webb Space Telescope will be released on July 12, 2022.
