Media accreditation for satellite launch: Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission

Longueuil, Quebec, — NASA is inviting media to Vandenberg Space Force Base in California to witness the launch of the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission, scheduled for no earlier than .
Led by NASA and France's space agency (CNES), SWOT will survey 90% of Earth's surface water to address climate change and improve our management of water as a strategic resource.
Canada is providing a key component of NASA's Ka-band Radar Interferometer (KaRIn) instrument. This device, a set of extended interaction klystrons, will amplify the power needed to measure water surface elevation. Canada is also engaged in SWOT science activities.
