Minister of Transport to mark Rail Safety Week with events in Toronto

TORONTO, ONTARIO – The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, will participate in the following events in Toronto tomorrow (April 27) to mark Rail Safety Week:
9:30 a.m. - Minister Garneau will make an announcement regarding new funding for upgrades at railway crossings across the country. Minister Garneau will be joined by Mike Regimbal, National Director of Operation Lifesaver.
Location: Toronto Railway Museum, 255 Bremner Blvd, Unit 15.
11:45 a.m. – Minister Garneau will address the Economic Club of Canada, where he will discuss the future of Canada’s transportation system. The Minister will be available to respond to questions from the media following the event.
Location: The Omni King Edward, The Sovereign Ballroom (lobby level), 37 King Street.

6:30 p.m. – Minister Garneau will participate in a Town Hall community discussion about rail safety hosted by the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of International Trade and MP for University–Rosedale and the Honourable Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs and MP for Toronto–St. Paul’s.
