Minister Garneau in Toronto to announce immediate measure to improve air and public safety

On March 16, the Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, will participate in two media events related to the announcement of an important safety measure.

10:00 a.m.

Minister Garneau will participate in a news conference to announce an important aviation and public safety measure. Minister Garneau will be joined by Chief Superintendent Eric Stubbs from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who will deliver short remarks, and answer questions from the media.

10:45 a.m.

Minister Garneau and Chief Superintendent Eric Stubbs from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will participate in a media Q&A session. Members of the media across the country are invited to participate via teleconference. In order to join the call, media must pre-register before 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, with Transport Canada’s media relations at media@tc.gc.ca or by calling 613-993-0055.

Media attending the event should use the Billy Bishop Airport Pedestrian Tunnel.

Satellite trucks can access the airport by ferry and parking will be provided. Media should arrive no later than 9:15 a.m. in order to set up and avoid disruption for other speakers and guests.
