Transport Canada suspends the Certificates of Ottawa Aviation Services and Ottawa Aviation Services Inc.

Today, Transport Canada suspended Ottawa Aviation Services’ Approved Maintenance Organization Certificate, and the Flight Training Unit Operating Certificate of Ottawa Aviation Services Inc.

Transport Canada took this safety action against these companies for not meeting the requirement of appointing key senior safety personnel to their organizations, which is one of the Conditions of Issuance of their Certificates.

Transport Canada will not lift the suspension of Ottawa Aviation Services or Ottawa Aviation Services Inc. until they have demonstrated that they can satisfy the conditions of their respective Certificates.

Transport Canada takes its aviation safety oversight role very seriously and expects every air operator to operate safely and in accordance with the applicable aviation safety regulations. When air operators fail to do this, Transport Canada takes appropriate action in the interest of public safety.
