Minister Alghabra to announce new funding to support rail projects in Saskatchewan

The Minister of Transport, the Honourable Omar Alghabra, is making an important announcement about new funding to improve rail safety and efficiency in Regina and southern Saskatchewan. The announcement will take place at Intermobil, a state-of-the-art intermodal terminal connecting southern Saskatchewan to global markets.

Minister Alghabra and the Deputy Mayor of Regina, Lori Bresciani, will be available to answer questions from the media following the announcement.

In line with the Public Health Agency of Canada, in-person attendance will be monitored. Wearing a face covering and physical distancing are recommended.

We ask people who have recently received a positive diagnosis for COVID-19, or are awaiting test results, or who have recently been exposed to COVID-19, or are experiencing symptoms as described on Health Canada's website, not to attend.

Please note: Media are to meet at Intermobil Regina’s parking lot around 10:45 a.m. CST, located in the Chuka Creek Business Park off the East Regina Bypass Highway Service Road, accessible from the Arcola exit on the Regina Bypass Highway. The entrance gate is marked by a large sign which says ‘Intermobil’. Upon entry, media will be guided to the designated parking area and escorted to the event location.
