The Confederation Bridge is essential in supporting the economy and connectivity for the province of Prince Edward Island and the region. Today, the Minister of Transport and Internal Trade, the Honourable Anita Anand, announced that 2025 tolls will remain frozen for a third year at current rates, for the Confederation Bridge. The bridge operator, Strait Crossing Bridge Limited (SCBL), will receive funding from Transport Canada to prevent a toll increase.

• The Confederation Bridge is a federally owned asset.

• The Government of Canada has an agreement with the Bridge Operator, Strait Crossing Bridge Limited, for it to operate and maintain the Bridge until 2032.

• The Bridge Operator has the exclusive right to collect all tolls.
