Investigation report: April 2019 Main-track derailment near L’Assomption

Dorval, Quebec, 8 November 2019 — Today, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its investigation report (R19D0065) on the 24 April 2019 main-track derailment of a Canadian National Railway (CN) freight train on the Joliette Subdivision near L’Assomption, Quebec.
The TSB conducted a limited-scope, fact-gathering investigation into this occurrence to advance transportation safety through greater awareness of potential safety issues.
