"Turn to Busan" ceremony to honour Canadians' service and sacrifices in the Korean War

Ottawa — The Honourable Kent Hehr, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will participate in the "Turn to Busan" commemorative ceremony to pay tribute to Canadians who served and died in the Korean War.

Every year, an international ceremony is held at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Busan, Republic of Korea. A ceremony is also held in Canada, in partnership with the Korea Veterans Association of Canada, to mirror the annual international ceremony hosted overseas.

Participants will gather at the Monument to Canadian Fallen for a wreath-laying ceremony while reflecting on the remarkable contributions of the fallen Canadians. This year marks the 63rd anniversary of the Armistice that ended the active fighting in the Korean War.
