Ceremony to mark the 5th anniversary of the end of Canada’s mission in Afghanistan

Ottawa, ON – The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will be joined by the National Silver Cross Mother Anita Cenerini, and Veterans and their families to honour the brave Canadians who served—and died—during Canada’s mission in Afghanistan.
Media are encouraged to share the details of the event as follows:
“This Sunday, March 31, the Canadian public is invited to a ceremony at the National War Memorial in Ottawa at 11:00 am EDT to honour all Canadians who served in Afghanistan. Veterans, Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police members, their families, youth and the general public are invited as we mark the 5th anniversary of the end of Canada’s mission in Afghanistan.”
