Alberta’s health and medical technology sector to receive federal support

December 17, 2020 – Edmonton, Alberta – Western Economic Diversification Canada

The Honourable Jim Carr, the Prime Minister’s Special Advisor for the Prairies, on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages, and Minister responsible for Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD), will outline federal support for several initiatives to enable Alberta’s health and medical technology firms to continue growing and developing new products for market.

Special Representative Carr will be joined by Doug Schweitzer, Minister of Alberta Jobs, Economy and Innovation; Dr. Christopher McCabe, Executive Director and CEO of the Institute of Health Economics; Reg Joseph, CEO of Health City; and industry representatives.

Following the remarks, media will have an opportunity to ask questions.
