[The Honorable Bardish Chagger, Minister of Diversity and Inclusion and Youth speaking in a library.]
Hello.
Now is the time to share your voice!
If you are 16 or older and you self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, or Two-Spirit, we want to hear from you!
3 years ago, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered a historic apology to LGBTQ2 Canadians, and since then, under his leadership, our Government has taken meaningful steps towards building a safer and consciously more inclusive country.
[Video excerpt of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the House of Commons: “We were wrong. We apologize. I am sorry. We are sorry.”]
We know that while some progress has been made, LGBTQ2 communities in Canada continue to face long-standing barriers to full freedom and equality in society.
This is why my mandate includes a commitment to work on the first-ever Federal LGBTQ2 Action Plan.
And that’s where you come in.
Fill out the online survey and tell us about your daily realities and your lived experiences in areas like employment, health care, housing and homelessness, and safety.
What we hear from you will help us develop the LGBTQ2 Action Plan.
The Action Plan will guide our Government’s work to improve the social, economic and health outcomes of diverse LGBTQ2 communities throughout Canada.
So take some time to have your say.

You’ll find the survey link on the LGBTQ2 Secretariat webpage.
In fact, our website will also provide more information on the various engagement opportunities in the months ahead.
And, help us spread the word. Encourage your LGBTQ2 family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues to add their voices to what we hope will become a huge Canadian chorus.
I can’t wait to hear from you so we can work together to build back even better and consciously more inclusive.
Keep well and stay safe.
Thank you.
Merci.
