Itinerary for November 9, 2021

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia

The Honourable Marci Ien, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, will visit Halifax on November 9 and 10, 2021. The Minister will meet with community leaders as well as women’s, LGBTQ2, Indigenous and youth organizations.

Tour of Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre

Minister Ien will visit the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre to discuss the important work they are doing to support Urban Aboriginal people in the community.

Time:    12:00 p.m. AST

Meeting with Members of the Prime Minister’s Youth Council

Minister Ien will meet with members of the Prime Minister’s Youth Council to listen to and discuss their vision and priorities for a more inclusive Canada.

Time:    2:00 p.m. AST

Meeting with Shelter Movers  

Minister Ien will meet with Shelter Movers to discuss their work providing free moving and storage services to women and children fleeing violence.
