Youth Engagement
Canada’s first national Youth Policy holds a commitment to create meaningful opportunities for youth voices to be heard, respected and considered. Building from this, work is underway towards the first State of Youth Report. Between August and December 2020, the Youth Secretariat invited youth (ages 12-30) to participate in or host an engagement session to share their insights and experiences, specifically around the following youth-identified priorities:
- Environment and climate action;
- Leadership and impact;
- Employment;
- Innovation, skills and learning;
- Truth and reconciliation;
- Health and wellness;
And the impacts of COVID-19.
This report will create greater awareness of how youth are doing, highlight initiatives and programs available to youth and help shape future directions.
