The Conflict Solutions and Services team is here to support you on International Conflict Resolution Day, and Everyday!

October 17, 2022 - Defence Stories

The ability to work in a healthy, safe and respectful workplace is the right of every Defence Team member. October 20, 2022, is International Conflict Resolution Day (ICRD), offering Defence Team members a natural opportunity to take stock of the conflict resolution resources available in case they, a colleague, or a subordinate are in need.

The Chief Professional Conduct and Culture’s (CPCC) Director General Conflict Solutions and Services (DGCSS) team (formerly Integrated Conflict and Complaint Management) is available to help Defence Team members resolve workplace conflicts or complaints they may be facing, as well as give chains of command better awareness of the workplace climate and potential systemic issues within their fields.

Additionally, DGCSS is helping to modernize the way the Department of National Defence (DND) and Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) deal with conflict and complaint resolution through ongoing initiatives and updates to resolution mechanisms, online training opportunities, and streamlining the Grievance process.

Wondering how you can use DGCSS’s services?

Simply visit one of the 16 different Conflict and Complaint Management Services (CCMS) offices located across Canada, or call our extended hours toll-free line at 1-833-328-3351 from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. ET Monday - Friday. CCMS agents are equipped to provide information and guidance in order to help resolve matters of conflict and complaints early, locally, and informally (when appropriate).

The health, wellness and safety of Defence Team members is a top priority within DND/CAF. To find out more about DGCSS’s services and support to Defence Team members, visit the Conflict Solutions and Services web page.
