Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada

The ATSSC provides support services and facilities to 13 administrative tribunals, boards and councils, as well as two territorial bodies, helping them carry out their respective responsibilities and make decisions in line with the laws and procedures that govern their work.

Services and information

Canada Agricultural Review Tribunal (CART)

Reviews certain agricultural and agri-food penalties.

Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB)

Oversees bargaining rights, resolves unfair labour practice complaints, and makes sure public health and safety related services continue during labour disputes.

Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board (CCPERB)

Helps protect and preserve Canada’s cultural property.

Canadian Human Rights Tribunal (CHRT)

Looks into claims of discrimination under the Canadian Human Rights Act.

Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT)

Decides trade remedy, customs, excise tax, and federal procurement cases.

Competition Tribunal (CT)

Hears cases about mergers, misleading advertising, and restrictive trade practices.

Public Servants Disclosure Protection Tribunal (PSDPT)

Hears reprisal complaints referred by the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner.

Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board (FPSLREB)

Administers the collective bargaining and grievance resolution systems in the federal public service and for Parliament.

Social Security Tribunal of Canada (SST)

Decides on Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security Act and Employment Insurance Act appeals.

Specific Claims Tribunal (SCT)

Decides issues of validity and compensation relating to specific claims of First Nations.

Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada (TATC)

Decides on appeals to administrative actions taken by the Minister of Transport and the Canadian Transportation Agency.

Environmental Protection Tribunal of Canada (EPTC)

Carries out review hearings of Administrative Monetary Penalties and Compliance Orders.

National Joint Council (NJC)

The NJC jointly develops government-wide workplace directives and dispute-resolution mechanisms.

Yukon Teachers Labour Relations Board

The Yukon Teachers Labour Relations Board administers legislation and resolves teachers’ disputes.

The Chair of the FPSLREB serves as the Chair for the Yukon Teachers Labour Relations Board.

Yukon Public Service Labour Relations Board

The Yukon Public Service Labour Relations Board supports bargaining and mediates workplace conflicts.
