CWO Marshall enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1989 as an Air Traffic Control Assistant (ATCA) (now known as Aerospace Control Operator).

One of four CF members engaged in space tracking and early orbit determination operations in support of both military and commercial space launch activities.

In 2010 CWO Marshall and his family were posted to Vandenberg AFB, CA where he was employed as the Superintendent of Space Surveillance Division at the 614 Air and Space Operations Center. His Division was responsible for ensuring all objects orbiting earth were tracked, catalogued and accounted for. To steal a quote, “It’s not rocket science; it’s what happens after rocket science”.

In 2013 he was promoted to his current rank and posted to 21 Aerospace Control & Warning Sqn as the SCWO and appointed as the AC Op Senior Occupation Advisor until 2015 where he attended second language training at 22 Wing, North Bay, ON. He was appointed as the DG Information Management Operations/Joint Force Cyber Component CWO in 2021.

CWO Marshall was appointed to his current position as the 3 Canadian Space Division CWO in 2024.

CWO Marshall is an avid softball player and hunter (though not particularly skilled in either!) and thoroughly enjoys rides on his motorcycle. Both he and his wife take great pride in their children’s achievements and look forward to their future successes.
