Chief Warrant Officer Robert Peldjak

Born in Montreal, QC, Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Peldjak joined the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in January 1995 as a Reserve Infantry soldier with the Canadian Grenadier Guards. In March of 1997, he completed a component transfer to the Regular Force and began his tenure with the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (3PPCLI) parachute company. During his time with 3PPCLI, he contributed to domestic operations with Operation ASSISTANCE (Red River Flood) in 1997 and Operation RECUPERATION (Ice Storm) in 1998. He also served on international deployments with Operation PALLADIUM (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 2000 and Operation APOLLO (Afghanistan) in 2002.

In 2003, he completed a voluntary occupational transfer to the Aerospace Control Operator occupation. Upon completion of his training at the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Control Operations in 2004, he was posted to 14 Wing Greenwood where he served as a Data Assistant and Ground Controller. In 2007, he was promoted to Master Corporal and posted to the Eastern Air Defense Sector in Rome, New York, where he served with the Canadian Detachment for three years as a Surveillance Operator and Identification Technician.

In July 2010, he was promoted to Sergeant and posted to 19 Wing Comox where he served as the Assistant to the Wing Chief Warrant Officer (WCWO) for two years. In 2013, he completed second language training and was subsequently posted to 22 Wing North Bay, again as the Assistant to the WCWO. In January of 2014, he was promoted to Warrant Officer and was employed as a Crew Chief with 21 Aerospace Control and Warning Squadron. In 2015, he was posted to the CWO Robert-Osside Profession of Arms Institute at Collège militaire royal St-Jean where he served as Directing Staff on the CAF’s Intermediate Leadership Program. In December of 2015, he had the distinct honour of being named to the Order of Military Merit.

In July 2017, he was promoted to Master Warrant Officer and posted to the National Capital Region where he was employed as the Non-commissioned Member (NCM) Air Operations Occupation Manager with Directorate Air Personnel Strategy, then had the privilege of serving members of the Aerospace Control Operator and Meteorological Technician occupations as their Career Manager.

In April of 2019, he was fortunate enough to graduate from the United States Air Force (USAF) Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy (AFSNCOA) while completing his Master of Arts Degree in Leadership from Royal Roads University that same month. In August 2019, he returned to AFSNCOA as an Instructor and Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Liaison. In December 2020, he was promoted to his current rank and subsequently became a member of the CAF’s Chief Petty Officer 1st Class / CWO Corps. While in the US, he also had the privilege of attending the USAF Chief Master Sergeant Leadership Course in May of 2021.

On his return to Canada, he had the honour of serving as the RCAF Academy School CWO for two years before setting out on a year-long deployment with NATO Mission Iraq as an NCM Leadership Advisor. Privileged with being selected for a senior appointment, CWO Peldjak returned to 16 Wing Borden in 2024 to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of his current role as the WCWO.
