Chief Warrant Officer Marc Beaumier
A native of Beaudry (Quebec), Chief Warrant Officer Marc Beaumier enrolled in the Canadian Forces in April 1989. He first joined as an infantryman in the Royal 22nd Regiment (R22R). From 1989 to 1998, he is posted to the 2nd battalion R22R in Quebec, to the 1st battalion R22R in Lahr Germany, and to range control in Suffield, Alberta. During that time, CWO Beaumier completed two French Commando courses in France and deployed twice to Croatia (OP UNPROFOR), in 1992 and 1995. In 1992, he received the Commander in Chief commendation and the Chief of Defense Staff commendation.
After 10 years serving in the Canadian Army, he reoriented his career to the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Construction Engineer Branch. In October 1999, he graduated as a Water Fuel and Environmental Technician (WFE Tech) and was posted to the construction engineering section in Cold Lake. From there, he deployed to the Golan Heights (OP DANACA) in 2001 and to Canadian Forces Station Alert in 2003. From 2004 to 2012, he was posted to 3 Wing Bagotville and to 5 Combat Engineer Regiment in Valcartier. Throughout these two postings, he deployed 3 times in Afghanistan (OP ARCHER in 2005, OP ATHENA in 2007 and 2009).
Promoted to the rank of Master Warrant Officer in January 2011, he was assigned to the position of Construction Troop Sergeant Major. In the summer of 2012, he was posted to Ottawa as the Life Cycle Material Management for several deployable engineer assets. From there, he was appointed WFE Tech Senior Trade Advisor for a term of 3 years. He was also part of a CSA technical committee (as an associate member representing DND) for the creation of a new standard: CAN/CSA B837-14 – Collapsible fabric storage tanks (bladders). Then in July 2014, he was posted to Montreal as the sergeant major for the engineer service detachment Montreal. Promoted to his current rank in July 2016, Chief Warrant Officer Beaumier was posted to Ottawa to the Directorate Air Personnel Strategy as the Occupation Manager for all construction engineer trades and fire fighters. In July 2017, he was posted for a second time to Bagotville as the 3 Operational Support Squadron CWO at 3 Wing and he deployed to OP IMPACT, Kuwait in 2019 as the Air Task Force (ATF)-I CWO. As a result of this mission, he was awarded the Canadian Joint Operations Command commendation.
In the summer of 2020, he was posted again, this time to Royal Military College Kingston to complete the Non-Commissioned Member Executive Professional Development Program. Having graduated with a Certificate of Advanced Military Studies, he is back to Bagotville to serve as the 3 Wing and Canadian Forces Base Bagotville CWO.
