Chief Warrant Officer Kevin Mullins

Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Kevin Mullins was born in Kingston, ON but moved frequently growing up as his father was a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) member. Although he calls Gander, NL, home, CWO Mullins enrolled in the CAF in March 2001 in Ottawa, ON, as a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Specialist. Upon completing his Basic Military Qualification in June 2001, Private (Basic) Mullins went to Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Kingston to complete his trade training within the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics. 

His first posting following training was to Canadian Forces Station (CFS) Leitrim in December 2002. Promoted to Corporal (Cpl) in June 2004, Cpl Mullins completed the Nijmegen March as part of the Assistant Deputy Minister (Information Management) team for CFS Leitrim that summer.

In 2006, Cpl Mullins was deployed on Operation ARCHER to Bagram Air Base working at the United States Cryptologic Services Group as a SIGINT Geospatial Analyst for which he was subsequently awarded a Canadian Expeditionary Force Command Commendation. Upon returning from his tour, Cpl Mullins was appointed to the rank of Master Corporal (MCpl) in January 2007 and was subsequently posted to San Antonio, Texas, in July 2007. While employed in a Technical SIGINT role with the National Security Agency Texas, he returned to Quebec City, QC, in March 2008 to complete his Primary Leadership Qualification. 

Posted back to CFS Leitrim in 2010, MCpl Mullins was employed at the Communications Security Establishment before being promoted to the rank of Sergeant (Sgt) in 2011. After a one year posting to the Canadian Forces Language School in Gatineau, QC, he returned to CFS Leitrim in 2012 as the Collection Manager within the Mission Management team and completed his next leadership training in December 2012

In 2014, Sgt Mullins deployed for his second tour in Afghanistan for Operation ADDENDA at the Canadian Embassy in Kabul. He was awarded the task force (TF) commendation by the TF Commander for his work. Upon his return, Sgt Mullins was employed as an Acting Duty Watch Officer for approximately 14 months. He completed his Intermediate Leadership Program in March 2016 and was then promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer (WO) the following month which came with a posting to Halifax, NS. In 2017, WO Mullins completed a third tour, this time at sea aboard Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Winnipeg for Operation PROJECTION in the Indo-Asia Pacific area of operations. 

Promoted to the rank of Master Warrant Officer (MWO) in December 2019, he was posted to Fort Meade, Maryland, USA, as the Canadian Forces Information Operations Group Outside of Canada Sergeant-Major in 2020. After receiving a promotion to CWO in June 2024, CWO Mullins returned to Canada in August 2024 when he was posted to 5 Wing Goose Bay, NL, as the Wing CWO. 

CWO Mullins is happy to be back on the east coast where he enjoys playing golf in his time off and spending time with his wife, Michelle, and two teenage children, Lucas and Brianna.
