Chief Warrant Officer Frank G. White
Chief Warrant Officer Frank White enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as a Reservist Mobile Support Equipment Operator in June 1986 as part of a Student Youth Employment Program. In June 1988 CWO White commenced his Regular Force employment in the Air Defence Artillery at the CAF Recruit School in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia followed by trades training at the Royal Canadian Artillery Battle School in Shilo, Manitoba. His first posting was to Chatham, New Brunswick with 4 Air Defence Battery where he served as a Javelin Operator, Javelin Detachment Commander, 35mm Gun Operator and 35mm Gun Detachment Commander until 1994.
He changed occupations to Traffic Technician in 1994. His first posting as a Traffic Technician was to Canadian Forces Base Halifax. While in Halifax he performed the duties of Shipper, Receiver and Invoice clerk. During his stay in Halifax deployed as a member of the Mission Closure Team to OP KINETIC in Kosovo, Forward Logistics Team in support of the NATO fleet and as a Freight forwarder to the USS George Washington Battlegroup at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Virginia.
In 2004 he was posted to 2 Air Movements Squadron at 8 Wing Trenton, Ontario. In 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and second in charge Central Materiel Traffic Terminal. In 2006 was deployed to OP ARCHER/ATHENA in Kandahar, Afghanistan from June to December as the In-Charge, Mobile Air Movements Section. In May 2007 he started his training as a Loadmaster on the CC-150 Polaris and posted to 437 Transport Squadron as a Line flyer July 2007 and subsequently promoted to Warrant Officer in 2008. He was privileged to have flown Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William, the Prime Minister and the Governor General of Canada.
In 2012 he participated on a year-long French course. On completion of the course in 2013 and newly promoted to Master Warrant Officer was posted to 5 Service Battalion, Valcartier, Quebec where he served as the Movements Platoon 2 In-Charge. In 2016 he was posted 2 Canadian Air Division Headquarters in Montreal serving as the G4 Movements and Headquarters Sergeant-Major until 2018 when he was promoted to his current rank of Chief Warrant Officer.
As a Chief Warrant Officer served in the positions of A4 Movements and Loadmaster Readiness both at 1 Canadian Air Division Winnipeg, Manitoba from 2018 until 2020. In 2020 he was once again posted to 8 Wing Trenton, 437 Transport Squadron as the Squadron Chief Warrant Officer.
CWO White is honoured to have been appointed as the 9 Wing Chief Warrant Officer and is dedicated to serve the 9 Wing family.
