CT-102B Astra II

The CT-102B Astra II (Grob G 120TP) is the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program’s Basic Flying Training aircraft.
A significantly enhanced aircraft compared to its predecessor, the CT-102A Astra, the CT-102B Astra II features greater speed, flying altitude and performance that will help prepare pilots to fly the sophisticated Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aircraft of today and the future.
The fleet of 23 aircraft will be based at 15 Wing Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, as part of a realignment of ab initio pilot training under FAcT that will see Basic Flying Training completed at 15 Wing Moose Jaw. Once fully operational, every pilot who earns their wings in the RCAF will have started on the CT-102B Astra II.
