Snowbird 7 – Outer Left Wing, Canadian Forces Snowbirds
Captain Dominic Appolloni from Winnipeg, Manitoba, joined the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in 2014. His interest in the Air Force was sparked from his father's military career, and he is one of five siblings who have served in the CAF. In his teen years, he was a member of 51 Canada Aviation and Space Museum Air Cadet Squadron as well as 170 St James Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron.
Under the Regular Officer Training Plan, he completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Manitoba. He was then posted to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, to earn his pilot wings, where he flew the CT-156 Harvard II. Capt Appolloni was assigned as a flight instructor at 2 Canadian Forces Flying Training School in 2017 where he earned an A Category instructional rating and trained future flight instructors in the Flight Instructor School.
Captain Dominic Appolloni joined the Canadian Forces Snowbirds in 2021 and brings over 2,000 hours of ejection seat flying to the team.
He flies the number 7 jet in the Outer Left Wing position.
