Captain Philip Rochon
Snowbirds Public Affairs Officer

Captain (Capt) Philip Rochon is from Ottawa, Ontario. He had a profound interest in the Canadian Forces having grown up in a military family. Joining 742 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron in Ottawa, Ontario, he developed a love of everything aviation.
In 1996, Capt Rochon joined the Canadian Army Primary Reserve as a Medical Assistant with the Princess of Wales’ Own Regiment in Kingston, Ontario. While there he took part in Op RECUPERATION, following the 1998 ice storms.
Capt Rochon transferred to the Regular Forces as a Medical Technician in 1998. While posted in Edmonton, Alberta, he became interested in Public Health and transferred to the Preventive Medicine occupation.
In 2019, after 20 years of service as a Non-Commissioned Member, Capt Rochon was selected for the Commissioning from the Ranks program as a Public Affairs Officer (PAO) and graduated from the Basic Public Affairs Officer course in 2020.
As a PAO, Capt Rochon has been posted as Executive Assistant to the Commander of the Canadian Forces Recruiting Group and as PAO for 2 Canadian Division Support Base – Valcartier, Quebec. In 2023 he was selected as the Snowbirds PAO.
Over the course of his 27 years of service, Capt Rochon has served with the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy, and the Royal Canadian Air Force across the country. He has deployed internationally to Bosnia-Herzegovina, twice to Afghanistan, and aboard various HMC Ships.
Capt Rochon is excited to be continuing his service with the Snowbirds for his third season and helping inspire the next generation to pursue their dreams.
