Corporal Michael Miskie

Snowbird 7A, Aircraft Structures Technician

Corporal Michael Miskie

Corporal (Cpl) Michael Miskie was born in Barrie, Ontario, in the Old Royal Victoria Hospital.

He attended University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, British Columbia, for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. In between, he worked for a lawn maintenance company and for a Printing Press locally within Barrie.

In July 2016, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and attended his Basic Military Qualification St. Jean, Quebec.

While completing trades training, he would be temporarily posted twice; once to Trenton, Ontario, to train on the CC-130 Hercules with 429 Squadron and then to Cold Lake, Alberta, with 417 Squadron to learn about the CH-146 Griffon, de-icing and servicing and ramp safety.

He completed his occupational training in July 2018 and was posted to 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, where he would finish the last of his qualifications and earn his level A Authority in early 2019.

Cpl Miskie has worked hard to earn all his trade specific qualifications and learn about Aircraft Life Support Equipment (ALSE) and Safety Systems, using his expertise to train colleagues to understand that working in safety systems requires high attention to details.

2025 is his first year deploying on the road with the team.
