5e Régiment d’artillerie légère du Canada
5e Régiment d’artillerie légère du Canada (5 RALC) has two mottoes: "UBIQUE" (everywhere) and "QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT" (Whither Right and Glory Lead). These may be borne on Regimental appointments. The first motto, “Ubique” is represented on all battle honours in recognition of the artillery’s service in all battles and campaigns. 5 RALC is also special in that it has guns as regimental colours in the place of colours.
5 RALC’s mandate is to generate fire support resources in support of 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (5 CMBG) and the Canadian Armed Forces for the achievement of their missions. The Régiment has two 155-mm gun batteries, one target acquisition battery (bty) and advanced air support, coordination centre, fire support and target acquisition resources. The Régiment has five authorized batteries: X, Q, V, R and CS.
