The Honourable Navdeep Singh Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development:

One key area that is so critical, which is something I am very proud to announce is tourism. It supports more than 9,600 businesses and provides jobs to 57,000 Atlantic Canadians. So to build on this success, I am pleased to announce a joint investment of $24.5-million to position Atlantic Canada as a top global tourism destination.

This investment is so critical because it's going to help generate $200-million dollars in export revenues for Atlantic tourism businesses over the next three years, add 200 new businesses to the sector and create 6,000 new jobs over the next three years.
