Performance standard: A response is provided within 30 days following receipt of a request. Under section 9 of the Access to Information Act, the response time may be extended.
Performance results: The statutory deadline was met 76 per cent of the time. This includes cases where a notice of extension was sent to the requester within 30 days of receipt of the request.
Other information: In some cases, responses exceeded the performance standard due to workload and the consultation process.
Under the Access to Information Act, fees under $25 may be waived when deemed to be in the public interest. ACOA’s practice is to collect only the application fee and, in the public interest, to waive any other applicable fees. Fees waived during 2015-16 amounted to $899.
