Helping Sentrex Wind Services Inc. Lead the Way in Wind Technology

News release

April 13, 2018 – Quispamsis, NB – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency

Supporting businesses in rural communities helps create opportunities for business growth and well paid jobs for the middle-class and those working to join it. That is why the Government of Canada is investing more than $235,000 in two projects at Sentrex Wind Services Inc. to help the service provider grow and solidify its hold as an innovator in the commercial wind energy industry.

Alaina Lockhart, Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and Tourism and Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), today joined Paul Woodhouse, President of Sentrex Wind Services Inc., to announce support for the Quispamsis company.

The first project is to purchase sonic detection and ranging equipment and erect a test tower to strengthen the region’s wind energy expertise. The company is also undertaking marketing activities for its remote sensing technologies to help expand its client base. The Government of Canada is providing $123,345 for the first project and an additional $112,405 for the second one. The federal funds for both initiatives are repayable contributions provided through ACOA’s Business Development Program.

Investments in innovation and clean technology are part of the Government of Canada’s Innovation and Skills Plan, a multi-year strategy to create growing, innovative businesses with global reach, to strengthen regional economies, and create good jobs for all Canadians. This investment also builds on the Atlantic Growth Strategy.
