Helping Atlantic Canadian businesses succeed in the global market is a priority for the Government of Canada and is key to raising incomes, generating growth and strengthening the middle class and those working hard to join it. Thanks to a federal and provincial government investment totaling $360,000, Al-Pack Enterprises Ltd. will be able to increase its production capacity and access new markets.

The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), along with the Honourable Cathy Rogers, New Brunswick Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Honourable Francine Landry, Minister of Economic Development and Minister responsible for Opportunities NB, joined officials from Al-Pack Enterprises Ltd. to make the announcement today.

These investments will enable Al-Pack Enterprises Ltd. to purchase equipment for two new bagging lines thereby increasing production capacity and efficiency, as well as enable the company to access new markets by adding retail bag making capabilities.

The Government of Canada is providing a $160,000 repayable contribution through ACOA’s Business Development Program for this project, while the Government of New Brunswick, through Opportunities New Brunswick, is investing $200,000 for the new equipment as well as infrastructure expansion at the facility.

This project builds on the Government of Canada’s commitment to drive economic growth in Atlantic Canada through the Atlantic Growth Strategy, by providing strategic investments for innovative projects that build on the region’s competitive advantages, such as its strong export potential, growing manufacturing sector, and skilled workforce.
