Clean technology projects are an important part of sustainable economic growth and move the nation toward a low-carbon economy. That is why the Government of Canada supports businesses that incorporate innovative and resourceful green solutions, like New Glasgow’s Stark International Inc.

Federal government supports oil diagnostics and recycling facility

Today, Sean Fraser, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance and to the Minister of Middle Class Prosperity and Associate Minister of Finance, and Member of Parliament for Central Nova, announced a repayable contribution of $350,000 to Stark International to help build an automated oil diagnostic and research laboratory at its current facility. This announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages.

The new laboratory will allow the company to research and develop cleaner oil recycling solutions and provide a space for diagnostic testing of transformer oil. Having this capability in-house will increase the company’s efficiency and productivity, ensuring it can continue providing competitive and cost-effective services to its customers while expanding into new markets. The project will also result in two full-time, skilled positions.

The global clean technology market presents promising opportunities for the Atlantic region. The Government of Canada is dedicated to helping more small and medium-sized businesses seize new opportunities in this important sector.
