News release

August 4, 2021 · Shediac Bridge, New Brunswick · Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)

As the tourism sector prepares to welcome visitors when public health measures are lifted, the Government of Canada continues to support businesses and organizations through investments that help draw visitors to our communities and rural areas. That is why the federal government, through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), is investing to help Maplebrook Retreat develop a year-round luxury camping experience in Shediac Bridge.

Federal government invests in tourism project

The Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, President of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Member of Parliament for Beauséjour, today announced a repayable contribution of more than $190,000 to help construct domes and a reception building at the four-season glamping facility. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA.

Today’s announcement further demonstrates the Government of Canada’s commitment to support small- and medium-sized business owners and operators so the tourism sector, and the economy, can come roaring back.
