New Brunswick Business Immigrant Association launches program to enhance newcomer experience

Newcomers are vital to Atlantic Canada’s short-term recovery and long-term prosperity. That is why the Government of Canada is helping the New Brunswick Business Immigrant Association Inc. (NBBIA) provide newcomers with the support they need to thrive and succeed.
Federal investment will help support retention of newcomer business owners
Today, Jenica Atwin, Member of Parliament for Fredericton announced an investment of $373,600 to the NBBIA through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency’s (ACOA) Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) program. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for ACOA.
This project will support newcomer business owners in New Brunswick by addressing their unique needs through networking, training, learning events, and mentoring opportunities with successful and established immigrant businesses. The initiative will make it easier for newcomers to settle, establish a business and remain in New Brunswick, creating a positive experience that will help attract more entrepreneurs to the region.
Today’s announcement demonstrates the Government of Canada’s commitment to diversity and strong and inclusive communities that create economic growth and success.
