News release

March 13, 2024 · Kedgwick, New Brunswick · Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)

Canadian communities flourish when they have vibrant small- and medium- sized businesses, welcoming public spaces, and the infrastructure and resources needed to attract visitors. These elements are key to the overall well-being of individuals and families, creating the conditions for communities to thrive and grow.

Today, René Arseneault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche, announced a total federal investment of $840,696 through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and Canadian Heritage for four businesses and organizations in the Kedgwick and Saint-Quentin region.

The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Gudie Hutchings, Minister of Rural Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency; and the Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages.

This funding will help two organizations improve the community’s tourism offerings and public spaces and help two local businesses update equipment to set the stage for growth. For the full list of projects, please see the backgrounder.

Today’s announcement highlights how the Government of Canada is contributing to Atlantic Canada’s momentum by strengthening our communities, creating new opportunities, and setting the stage for a strong, sustainable future.
