News Release
May 5, 2016 Prescott, Ontario Canada Border Services Agency
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today charges against a Mississippi man who attempted to smuggle a prohibited weapon from the United States at the Prescott port of entry.
On April 22, 2016, Terrance Bouldin, 31, of Madison, Mississippi, followed his GPS into Canada on route to Chicago. The commercial driver presented himself at primary inspection and indicated that he had no firearms or other weapons. During a secondary examination, border services officers found a loaded semi-automatic firearm in his vehicle. The gun was seized and Bouldin arrested.
On April 22, CBSA investigators charged Bouldin with non-report of goods, making false statements, smuggling, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless transportation of a firearm and possession of a loaded restricted firearm under subsections 91(1) and 85(1) of the Criminal Code, and subsection 12(1), paragraph 153(a) and section 159 of the Customs Act.
Bouldin was released from custody and his next court appearance will be on May 20, 2016 in Brockville.
