Introducing the new CBSA detector dog at Halifax Stanfield International Airport

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is pleased to introduce Spencer, the new CBSA detector dog at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport (HSIA).
Spencer and his handler, Officer Krystal Daigle, recently joined the CBSA team working at HSIA. Spencer is a two-and-a-half-year-old beagle trained to detect restricted or prohibited food, plant, and animal products from entering Canada. Spencer came to the CBSA from a rescue organization.
Officer Daigle and Spencer completed the Detector Dog Service (DDS) training at the CBSA College in Rigaud, Quebec in May. The DDS plays an important role in assisting the CBSA to fulfill its border protection mandate.
