CBSA Southern Ontario Region – Planning for the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel Renovations

News Release

As announced by the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel Corporation, the international crossing will be closed for renovations beginning at 8 pm on Friday, October 20, 2017 and will reopen at 5:30 am on Monday, October 30, 2017.

During this time, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will be using all available resources to increase staffing levels at alternate border crossings, primarily at the Ambassador Bridge. Additionally, the same measures will be utilized while construction continues in the evenings from October 2017 to June 2018.

For more information, visit the CBSA website at www.cbsa.gc.ca or contact the Border Information Service at 1‑800‑461-9999.

“Whether you’re returning home or visiting, manage your travel. You can plan ahead by checking border wait times using the CanBorder App and cross at the least busy port of entry in the area.”
