Airdrie man charged following weapons seizure

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced today the details of a joint investigation related to unlawful importation of weapons.
On July 10, CBSA officers from the Calgary Commercial team intercepted a parcel from Hong Kong declared as flashlights. Upon further examination, officers found six conducted energy weapons (similar to a TASER), which are prohibited weapons in Canada. The information was referred to the RCMP for further investigation.
On July 12, the Airdrie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit executed a general warrant where one male was arrested with the assistance of the Southern Alberta Emergency Response Team. Subsequent to his arrest, RCMP executed a search warrant at a rural property in Rocky View County, where further evidence and weapons were seized.
Jeffrey Gordon Bussey, 38, of Airdrie, is charged with seven counts pursuant to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on August 16, 2018. The investigation is ongoing.
