About the Youth Council
- Mission
- Amplify the diverse voices of young and new professionals in the GCWCC to support campaign modernization, inclusivity, and renewal.
- What We Do
- Engage with young and new professionals to foster their involvement in the Campaign by ensuring their perspectives are heard and supported.
- Lead innovative projects and strategic initiatives that reflect the values of new and young professionals, while supporting professional development for the next generation of leaders.
- Why It Matters
- Young and new professionals are the future of the GCWCC, and engaging them early in their career is key to ensuring they are involved in the Campaign for years to come.
- Networking and growing the skillsets of young public servants also plays an important role in the development of future federal leaders. The Council is proud to foster the next generation of donors, GCWCC Champions, and senior leaders.

Impact and Initiatives
- Time Tracking: This newly launched initiative aims to recognize volunteers' valuable contributions by tracking non-monetary efforts, highlighting the impact of their time and dedication.
- ProjectBe: ProjectBe is a caused-based giving platform that allows donors to contribute towards specific local needs that reflect the values of new and young professionals. Learn more about ProjectBe
- Departmental Visits: These visits provide an opportunity for the Youth Council to support senior leadership in promoting the GCWCC. During these engagements, the Youth Council connects with senior leaders across departments and agencies to share insights and perspectives from new and young public servants.
- Volunteer Days: Through organizing in-person volunteer activities, the Youth Council connects employees to local organizations, including volunteering with the Named Recipients – United Way Centraide or HealthPartners charities. Volunteer days help foster stronger community ties and make meaningful connections.
- Engagement event: Held each fall, this engaging and interactive GCWCC event offers an inspiring platform to learn about upcoming goals, discover the Youth Council's work, and hear stories from peers across the Government of Canada. The event features special appearances from national GCWCC leaders, and young professionals engaged in the Campaign.
- Communications Support: The Youth Council also amplifies the voices and stories of young and new professionals throughout the public service to foster greater visibility and engagement.
