GCWCC COVID-19: Emergency Funds Update

On March 11, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic. In response to this unprecedented event and a number of requests from public servants asking how they can help, the GCWCC launched a special emergency campaign with its partners, United Way Centraide and HealthPartners, to offer support and comfort to the most vulnerable in our communities.

From April to June, 2020, public servants from across the country contributed $288,531 (so far) to the GCWCC COVID-19 Emergency Funds supporting HealthPartners’ “Help our Helpers” and United Way Centraide’s “Local Love in a Global Crisis” campaigns. These funds will help provide support to those most impacted by this health pandemic, including support for Canadians with cancer, diabetes and other chronic diseases, as well as seniors, newcomers, and anyone facing income loss and food insecurity.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to this emergency campaign – you have once again demonstrated the generosity of public servants!

GCWCC 2020 Campaign

In light of COVID-19 and the physical distancing measures in place across the country, the 2020 GCWCC will be unlike any other previous campaigns. The National Chair’s Office is working with United Way Centraide to quickly adapt all campaign materials and products for a virtual campaign launch in the fall. This website will be updated over the coming weeks with more details as they become available.

For immediate questions about the upcoming campaign, check out the FAQs or contact the National Chair’s Office at gcwcc.ccmtgc@canada.ca.
