Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place from July 23 to August 2, bringing together athletes from across the Commonwealth to compete in 10 sports and six para sports. Over 149 athletes will proudly represent Canada at the Games.

Glasgow 2026 offers Canadians an opportunity to come together and celebrate. Canadian athletes inspire the country, especially young people, to stay active through sport. They embody determination, resilience, perseverance, and excellence.

Behind every Canadian athlete is a network of support, and Canadians play a vital role in championing them. Sport Canada funding programs contribute to the preparation, participation, and celebration of our country’s athletic excellence. As the single largest investor in Canada's amateur sport system, the Government of Canada is committed to providing Canadian athletes with the resources and support they need to reach their full potential.

Canada has participated in the Commonwealth Games since its inception in Hamilton, Ontario, in 1930.
