Factsheet – Hockey Canada Audit

Considerations

• PCH is conducting a recipient audit to ensure Hockey Canada is in compliance with existing contribution agreements with the Department for the period of April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2023.
• The external firm, Samson & Associés, conducted a site visit to Hockey Canada was conducted from June 27 to July 7, 2022 to begin the financial review of the expenditures reported to PCH, the governance structure of Hockey Canada, their internal controls and policies to manage the funds received from the Department.
• The auditors will also ensure there are policies and processes in place to manage harassment and abuse, dispute resolution and anti-doping requirements as well as other policy requirements as stated in the contribution agreements.
• The financial review and the review of the policies and processes are still ongoing and is expected to be completed in August 2022. Preliminary findings for validation are expected in September 2022, followed by a draft report in the Fall 2022, which will be shared with Hockey Canada for validation and response to recommendations.
