A Modernized Performance Hall in Maniwaki

September 8, 2016 – Maniwaki, Quebec – Department of Canadian Heritage

William Amos, Member of Parliament (Pontiac), today announced $1,080,997 in funding for the Maison de la culture de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau to renovate its performance hall, the Cité Étudiante de la Haute-Gatineau auditorium. He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.

This funding, provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund, will enable the organization to enlarge and redesign the space to increase its seating capacity and host a greater variety of shows.

  • The Maison de la culture de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau is a non-profit organization and multidisciplinary cultural presenter whose mandate is to facilitate and promote artistic, cultural and heritage development in the region.
  • The planned work will involve redesigning the parterre and balcony in the performance hall to increase the number of seats. Enlarging the stage and acquiring specialized stage equipment are also planned.
