Parliamentary Secretary Arif Virani to Visit Southern Ontario

OTTAWA, July 17, 2018 – As part of his three-day trip to Southern Ontario, Arif Virani, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage (Multiculturalism), will meet with stakeholders to discuss Indigenous languages, priorities facing the creative sector and ethnocultural communities.

Mr. Virani will make an announcement in Niagara-on-the-Lake on behalf of the Honorable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.

He will hold information sessions about Indigenous languages in St. Catharines and about funding available for multiculturalism and Black youth initiatives in Brampton.

While in Brampton, Mr. Virani will visit the Peel Art Gallery, Museum + Archives and attend the opening ceremony of the Visual Arts of South Asia Arts Festival. He will then travel to Georgetown to see the Emancipation Art Exhibition and visit the Halton Hills Cultural Centre.

He will also visit Halton Multicultural Council in Oakville.

In Aurora, Mr. Virani will visit the town’s Cultural Centre and the Museum and Archives.

He will travel to Kleinburg to visit the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
