Minister Rodriguez to Kick Off the 34th Christmas Lights Across Canada

OTTAWA – The Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, will deliver remarks Wednesday at the Christmas Lights Across Canada illumination ceremony.
In addition to the lighting of hundreds of thousands of multicoloured lights in the heart of Canada’s Capital Region, the annual ceremony will feature a musical performance by Ariane Moffatt, an artistic performance by Josée Bourgeois, a pyrotechnics show and the projection of the Magical Winter Lightscapes show. The festivities will also be broadcast live on Facebook for anyone unable to attend the ceremony.
Media representatives will need Parliamentary Press Gallery accreditation to access the designated media area.
All media who are not members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery must apply for temporary accreditation in advance. Those interested should contact Pierre Cuguen, Manager of Multi-Media Events, by email at Pierre.Cuguen@parl.gc.ca no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.
Media will have access to an area with risers on the central walk in front of the stage, which is accessible from the east driveway. Parking will be available for live broadcast vehicles only, upon request.
An RSVP for live broadcast vehicles must be sent by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, to PCH.media-media.PCH@Canada.ca. Members of the media are asked to provide the driver’s name and cellular phone number, as well as the licence plate number.
