The Maison de la Culture de Saint-Placide Is Getting an Infrastructure Upgrade

SAINT-PLACIDE, Quebec, April 17, 2019

Today, the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, announced that the Government of Canada would provide funding of $72,313 to the Municipality of Saint-Placide. The support will be used to improve infrastructure at the Maison de la culture and help improve access to the venue for persons with mobility impairment.

This funding will be awarded in two phases through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund.

Quick facts

  • The official launch of the Maison de la Culture de Saint-Placide was held in June 2017.

  • In 2019, for its second season, the Maison de la culture will host six private concerts in a bistro-style atmosphere. Several other events, such as exhibitions and conferences, will be held in addition to the concerts.

  • In 2018, over 1,000 visitors were able to enjoy the various special events offered throughout the season.

  • The Canada Cultural Spaces Fund supports the improvement of physical conditions that foster innovation in the areas of heritage, culture, creativity and the arts. The Fund supports renovation and construction projects, the acquisition of specialized equipment and feasibility studies related to cultural spaces.
