Celebrating the Remarkable Contributions of Asian Canadians

OTTAWA, May 7, 2019

The Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, kicked off the Government of Canada’s 2019 Asian Heritage Month at the National Art Gallery in Ottawa today. This month is an opportunity for all Canadians to learn more about the rich cultures and longstanding contributions Canadians of Asian descent have made to our society.

This year’s campaign is “Asian Canadian Youth: Shaping Canada’s Future.” In the arts, sciences, sports, business and government, Asian Canadians have made significant contributions to our country’s culture and prosperity.

Many activities will take place in May as part of Asian Heritage Month celebrations. Communities across the country are encouraged to take part in these activities, which showcase Canada’s rich heritage and cultural diversity.
