Forms – Cultural property export permits

Download the two-part Cultural Property Export Permit Application Form. The same form is used for either the temporary or permanent export of controlled cultural property from Canada.

This page also includes:

  • Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) memorandum, Export and Import of Cultural Property, which provides mailing addresses for CBSA permit issuing offices;
  • The consent form to be completed and signed by the applicant to allow their application to be transmitted electronically between CBSA and expert examiners (at their professional address) selected by CBSA. If no consent is provided, the application will be transmitted by mail; and
  • The Notice of Return to Canada Form that must be completed when objects exported under a temporary permit are returned to Canada. The Notice must be submitted within 15 days of the return.
