Agreements on Minority-Language Education and Second Official-Language Instruction

The Government of Canada provides funding to provincial and territorial governments to help them offer members of the French-speaking (outside Quebec) or English-speaking (in Quebec) the opportunity to be educated in their mother tongue and thereby enrich their cultural experience, and to offer residents of each province or territory the opportunity to learn French or English as a second language, as well as the chance to enrich their knowledge of the cultural characteristics of the other official language community.
